Tamara McCleary | Managing Director, Bonafide Supernova
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I currently work full-time in social media marketing at a creative agency. I also do a lot of work with blogger outreach, PR and I’m also working on a startup at the moment to build their online profile. Aside from that, I do some freelance writing and also manage my blog.
What got you into blogging and setting up Bonafide Supernova and who are your biggest inspirations?
When I was at university, I wanted to work in PR and I started blogging as a way to enter into the field. I studied PR at university and it was a good way for me to have my own online portfolio.
I love female entrepreneurs and when we started the blog, we attended a lot of networking events. One person who really stands out to me is Naomi Mdudu, founder of The Lifestyle Edit.
How would you describe your style?
My style is definitely a mix of high street and designer, and I also love vintage. I also love a lot of colour; if you go on any of my social media pages, you’ll see a lot of colour but day-to-day, I wear a lot of black! I love statement pieces and things that are a little bit quirky.
Where do you shop for clothes and accessories on a normal basis?
I go to Topshop quite a lot because it’s so easy and convenient for every day items. I also love ASOS, Boohoo and Missguided. For designer items, I really like Moschino, Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs.
What’s the go-to fashion item in your closet that never fails to complete your outfit?
A fur coat (not real fur!) Obviously not in the summer but it just adds to every outfit. I also think sunglasses add a lot of pizzazz to any outfit.
If you were given £1m to spend on clothes/accessories, what luxury stores would you splurge that cash on?
I would probably buy a lot of bags at Chanel, then a lot of shoes at Christian Louboutin. Then Moschino.
What is one item of clothing you won’t be caught dead wearing?
At the moment, I really dislike those army loungewear suits. I’ve seen quite a few people wearing them and I just don’t like them!
Where do you look for style inspiration?
I get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram. Also, I get a lot of fashion inspiration on the streets. I see so many cool people on the streets with cool outfits.
If you had to own one person’s wardrobe, whose would it be, and why?
Rihanna. Her style is just perfect!
What luxury items are you currently lusting on right now? (Fashion and/or beauty)
Once Cashmere is launched, what luxury items will you be saving for?
A Chanel bag!
